Ord Mountains and Fry Mountains 12/28/06
We made an exploratory trip to see what this part of the Johnson Valley OHV
area has to offer. Leavening from near Soggy Dry Lake we visited the Green
Rock Mine which as one would expect had green rocks called silicious epidote.
We then headed north, got the truck a little tippy on a pretty good hill, then
headed
over to the Yucca Rings. Yucca Rings can be up to 2100 years old and can have up
to 130
stalks in a circle! After that we headed down to Anderson Dry Lake to look
at an old World
War II aerial bombing target with a lot of old bomb fragments scattered about.
It was cold but a lot of fun and we left a lot out there to go see next time!
