Afton Canyon 11/22/06
On the way back from Las Vegas we stopped for some fun in Afton Canyon (north
of Barstow and formed
by the Mojave river). Last year in October we'd come this way when we did
the Mojave
Road Run but it
was late when we passed through and we missed some things. So we stopped
to see a few of them!
We crossed Soda Lake (dry this time) and left the obligatory rocks, then headed
down through
Razor OHV and into Afton Canyon, managing to find the buried railroad car, Spooky
Canyon and then
spied the Arbuckle Mine high up on the hill!
