"We Should Plan A Run!"
Anza Borrego - November 11 - 13, 2005
Back
in August Chris, Jeff, Kyle and I decided we'd plan a run. We talked about a
number of locations and decided Anza Borrego would be the perfect place. We
planned runs that we thought folks would like and presented it as a relaxing
event that we hoped people would attend. We did our pre-runs, picked a campsite
. . everything down to the trash can! Then we promoted the event and our little
run ended up drawing over 30 rigs (Tacomas and 4-Runners) and over 50 people.
Not bad! Thank you!!!!
Most
of these pictures are from camp and the easier run that I lead. The easier run visited
Font's Point, Arroyo Salado, Tule Wash, 17 Palms, The Pumpkin Patch, Basin Wash,
Split Mountain, Fish Wash, made several interesting wrong turns and u-turns,
stopped to pick up various antennas that flew of my truck and more! Chris lead a
"medium" run up and down South Coyote Canyon, then on Pinyon Mountain
Road and out Fish Creek, where both groups met at the end of the trail after a
long day of fun!
Some of the later pictures here are from Sunday where the last
of the event's runs headed up the Calcite Mine Trail before heading home!
In camp we had a lot of laughs (and polka) with great camp fires
and on Saturday night we had apple pie that Chris picked up in Julian on
his was out to the event.
Thank you to everyone who attended!!!!!
Lets Do It Again Soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll bring the sheep next time!!!
